David’s Story
Jul 18th, 2007 by Kate
When my brother and I were young, our parents gave us a few short weeks to prove we were able to care for a new pup we named Blacky. Try as we did, housebreaking Blacky was too much for us. We were devastated when he went to a home with older children. I soon embraced friends’ animals: Samone, a brilliant poodle; Shorty, the ever-roving beagle; and my favorite, La Pu Pe, a German Shepherd mix who protected us daily.
My first dog as an adult was our adoring Border Collie, Bo, who has brought much happiness to our lives.
We designed this journal as an easy way to capture memories of the dogs that have blessed their lives. It is entirely appropriate for dogs in your immediate family or ones you feel strongly connected to. This is a chance to acknowledge how important dogs are in our lives by remembering their quirky personalities, the funny stories of their escapades, and their loyalty.
